Academic writing needs clear sentences as well as strong ideas. This grammar checker offers a first review of selected grammar patterns, accidental repeated words, spacing and British English spelling. It shows each suggestion separately so you can accept only the changes that fit your sentence.
Paste your own draft or import a plain-text file. The tool keeps the original text unchanged and builds a revised preview from the suggestions you select. Copy the preview or download it as a text file when you are satisfied. Formatting from Word or PDF is not imported by the text editor.
The local checking engine looks for common patterns such as “they is”, “should of” and repeated adjacent words. A spelling dictionary supplies possible alternatives for unrecognised words. Proper names, abbreviations and specialist vocabulary can be valid even when a spelling tool does not recognise them.
This is a limited rule-based checker, not a full linguistic analysis. It may miss agreement across a complex sentence, ambiguous punctuation, logical inconsistencies and field-specific terminology. “No suggestions found” means that none of its checks matched; it does not mean the document is error-free.
After checking the wording, read your paragraph aloud. Confirm that each sentence has a clear role and that pronouns refer to identifiable subjects. Compare claims with the cited evidence, keep tense consistent within a discussion, and use terminology consistently across the document.
The grammar tool loads its spelling dictionary from this website and performs the check on your device. It does not upload the text for checking and does not save your writing after you leave or refresh. Copy or download the result before closing the page.
For a broader review of argument, structure and academic style, you can request editing support from our team. A human review should still be assessed against your assignment brief and university requirements.
No. These writing tools use local rules and, for grammar checking, a spelling dictionary. They offer a first editing pass and may miss errors or suggest changes that do not fit the context.
